Current Job Opportunities at the Conservatory

The Conservatory is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to the development of a diverse workforce. Full-time employees of the Conservatory enjoy a 35-hour workweek and generous benefits. Click here to view jobs.

Student Employment

A variety of job opportunities are available to students seeking employment on campus; however, pursuit of jobs within the Conservatory will require persistence and the willingness and ability to demonstrate your qualifications for the available positions. All students seeking employment should be prepared to submit a resume (CV) and a cover letter to hiring managers. A list of departments that typically hire students can be found here.

All new and returning students seeking employment are encouraged to attend the On-Campus Job Fair, which will take place on Thursday, August 25, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, in the second level of the Atrium. Please bring multiple copies of your resume and cover letter when you come to the job fair.

Please be aware of the following student employment guidelines:
  • While school is in session, students may work on campus up to 20 hours per week.
  • All students may apply for positions at the conservatory; however, priority must be given to those participating in the Federal Work/study program and to international students whose visas do not permit them to work off campus.
  • International Students with F-1 visas must speak with Ruby Pleasure, our International Student Advisor, regarding USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) guidelines about permissible employment. You may contact Ruby by phone at 415-503-6228 or email at rap@sfcm.edu.
  • Students with multiple campus jobs may be asked to relinquish one of their positions if the total number of hours exceeds 20 hours per week.
For more information about student employment at the Conservatory, please feel free to contact Michael Patterson, Human Resources Manager at 415-503-6237 or mpatterson@sfcm.edu.

Employee Handbook

Our Employee Handbook provides a general overview of policies and procedures for all Conservatory faculty and staff. Campus Safety

Please take time to review the Emergency Action Plan, the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and the Annual Campus Safety Report.

The Emergency Action Plan provides instructions for responding to emergency situations that may occur, such as a power outage, a fire or an earthquake. Every student, faculty and staff member should familiarize themselves with protocols such as our earthquake and evacuation response procedures.

The Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, an ongoing work in progress that is reviewed by our Safety Committee, contains information regarding safety programs at the Conservatory. This document is intended to provide guidance for identifying, reporting and responding to hazards, potential emergencies and other situations that can interfere with our work environment.

Finally, the Campus Safety and Security Report contains information about specific crime activity that may occur on campus and on public property immediately adjacent to campus. The report uses data gathered annually by our Campus Security and the San Francisco Police Department and is updated on or before October 1 of each year.
If you have questions about any part of the plan, please e-mail Michael Patterson at mpatterson@sfcm.edu or call 415.503.6237.
