Tenor Staff Singer
Description:
1.St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Belvedere (approximately 10 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge) has an opening for a Tenor staff singer to round out a quartet of vocal leaders who assist in choir preparation and prepare solos and quartets for worship and other special events of the parish. Choir rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm, and Sunday morning responsibilities run from 9-11am. Outside of this schedule, the choir prepares for a number of additional projects throughout the year, including a Christmas Concert, Holy Week, and Evensongs.
Job Duties:
- Singing in the tenor section of a 20 voice choir of mixed abilities, offering up solos and small ensemble singing as available and appropriate.
Requirements:
- Good sight reading is essential, as is the willingness to work with a capable group of volunteer singers. The ideal candidate is available throughout the choir season, which runs from September through mid-June with a 2-week hiatus after Christmas Eve.
Salary:
$100 per 2-hour call, $50 per hour in all other cases.

- Accompanist
Description:
1. The Peninsula Women's Chorus seeks an accompanist for our award-winning treble ensemble of 60 singers. Status: Part-time/hourly/nonexempt employee
Job Duties:
- The artistic director shall have discretion over the number of required sessions each year. The duties shall be divided between rehearsals and performances: Rehearsals: weekly rehearsals Monday night (7:00 - 9:45 p.m., often with calls for sectionals and auditions starting at 6:30 pm) at the Cubberley Community Center, Room M2, unless otherwise notified; dress rehearsals at each concert site each season; bi-annual retreat workshops (typically held in October and March on a Saturday). Performances: all concerts for the season, including concert tour, if applicable; all recording sessions; other events that are jointly scheduled. If a rehearsal or performance must be missed by the accompanist, he/she is to provide a suitable substitute cleared by the Artistic Director with reasonable advance notice. The accompanist may expect to meet/communicate with the artistic director as needed to discuss rehearsal/performance requirements (i.e. music materials, supplies, instruments, room setups) and other relevant topics.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate for this position will possess the following qualities: an excellent musician who plays at the highest level for choruses and soloists; adept at following the Choral Director and anticipating instructions; attentive at all times in rehearsal to give part support as needed; is a positive artistic partner and collaborator; sight reads fluently; plays comfortably from open score, including multiple voice parts simultaneously; knowledge of performance practice in all styles relevant to the selected repertoire; ability to play any combination of vocal parts at any time; willingness to improvise interludes in concert; assists with rehearsal directing on an as-needed basis; ability to take direction well – both verbal and visual; dependable and punctual; flexible, accepts direction and constructive criticism; willingness to try new things; has a love of new music and the capacity to play from graphic scores, contemporary mixed meter, complicated rhythms, and extended piano techniques. Minimum Requirements 15+ years of piano/keyboard experience; 3+ years previous experience as a choral accompanist.
Salary:
Salary range: $70-85/hour for accompanying and $35-40/hour for meetings, approximately 4-5 hours per week during rehearsal season between August and May, with higher expectations during concert weeks.

Group Piano Faculty Member

1. About Community Music Center Community Music Center’s mission is to make high quality music accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, regardless of financial means. We’re committed to centering equity and inclusion in our programs and across all aspects of our organization. We are a nonprofit institution founded in 1921 with branches in the Mission District, Richmond Districts, and at partnership sites throughout San Francisco serving 3,300 students annually. In early 2024, we’ll be opening an expanded campus at our Mission District Branch. About the CMC Sparks Beginning Piano Program CMC Sparks is a new program that teaches youth beginning music and instrumental fundamentals in a fun group environment. The Beginning Piano class provides an introduction to piano and basic musical concepts, including note reading, rhythm, and ear training. Using a mix of fun and interactive exercises, games, and age-appropriate repertoire, students learn basic keyboard orientation and will be able to play simple melodies, preparing students for private piano study. CMC is currently hiring group piano instructors for our Mission District Branch (544 Capp Street) to teach group classes as part of the CMC Sparks Program. Current openings are available on Saturdays 9:00am - 12:00pm beginning in January 2024.
Job Duties:
- The ideal group piano faculty candidate will have the following experience and credentials: - Significant experience working with students ages 5 and up. - Strong background in group piano for children and/or parent-child classes is preferred, as is experience teaching with Faber’s Piano Adventures or similar lesson books. - Significant study in piano, piano pedagogy, and/or music education required - Ability to commit to weekly classes throughout the full school year - A sense of fun and humor, and a passion for the work of Community Music Center - Flexible; adept at adapting to changing priorities and multi-tasking as conditions require - High energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude. Salary:
$59.75 per 45-minute group class. Additional opportunities are available for compensated performances and meetings, free practice room and studio rental as available.

- Part Time Contract Piano Teacher
Description:
1. NoteWorthy Piano Studio is currently seeking an experienced Piano Teacher based in San Francisco, CA for a part time, contract, on-site role. The Piano Teacher will be responsible for developing and executing customized piano lesson plans for students of all ages and skill levels. The role involves effectively communicating with students and their families, and helping students achieve their musical goals through fun and engaging lessons. Our ideal candidate is an experienced piano teacher who is passionate and patient about teaching music and enjoys working with students of all ages and backgrounds. The teacher will also need a reliable mode of transportation as they will need to drive to each client's home for lessons. Must have flexibility M-F between 3:30pm-8pm. There is a minimum commitment until the beginning of June when the academic school year ends. Currently the schedule will be 1-2 hours a week minimum. The schedule will continue to expand and increase as more student inquiries are received.

- Cross-Country Chamber Consortium Black, Latinx and Indigenous Emerging Composer Commission
Description:
Atlanta Chamber Players (Atlanta), Decoda (New York), Musiqa (Houston), Picosa (Chicago) and SOLI Chamber Ensemble (San Antonio) proudly announce the 3rd round of the Cross-Country Chamber Consortium’s annual Black, Latinx and Indigenous Emerging Composer Commission, aimed at increasing diversity in modern chamber music repertoire. The 2023 winner will receive a $5000 cash award, as well as a performance by each of the five Consortium members, a travel stipend to attend a performance in the location of their choice, and the combined artistic and administrative support of five chamber music ensembles committed to providing an outlet for new voices in modern music. Applications for the first round of this commission will be accepted in November of 2023, and the winner’s commission will be presented in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, New York and San Antonio during the 2024/25 season. Applications will be judged blind by a panel representing the member organizations and joined by rotating guest judges: panels change from year to year. The winner will create a new work for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano.
