What is your hometown?

Carlisle, PA

What are you passionate about outside of music?

Hiking, family/friend time, and consuming other forms of popular culture.

Who were your major teachers?

Robert Pound and David Smooke.

What question do you wish students would ask sooner rather than later?

“What impact does my art have on the people around me?”

What was the defining moment when you decided to pursue music as a career?

I'm not sure when I decided to pursue it, but it first entered my radar during my senior year at a collaborative arts high school. Students from all disciplines worked together on this big, entirely original, end-of-year show. I realized how much I liked working alongside other artists, and how multifaceted a career in the arts could be.

What was a turning point in your career?

When I interned at LitWorld in New York City and decided to work in nonprofit arts.

If you weren't a musician or teacher, what do you think you would be doing now?

Working for a social justice-focused nonprofit or in journalism.
