Biography
I am an educator with more than 25 years of teaching experience in Germany and the United States. After earning the German equivalent of a Master of Education in English and German, I taught at middle and high schools as well as in adult education, including at the Goethe-Institut in San Francisco and a language school in Berlin. Since moving to the Bay Area in 2013, I have continued teaching German and English in a variety of school and community settings.
My teaching focuses on creating meaningful connections between language, culture, and students’ own lives. I enjoy working with learners of all backgrounds and designing curricula that are engaging, inclusive, and relevant. Over the years, I have also organized school projects and cultural events that bring learning to life outside the classroom.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time in nature with my family and our Labrador, as well as reading literature and pursuing creative projects.
