Visit Us

We look forward to meeting you! Please note that our campus is closed to the public, so visitors must schedule a tour with the Office of Admissions. We’re typically unable to accommodate drop-in visitors.

The SFCM campus features two buildings: the Ann Getty Center and The Bowes Center. They’re conveniently located within two city blocks of each other, just a five-minute walk apart!

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is located in the heart of San Francisco’s arts and tech districts. Just blocks away from Twitter and Dolby, and surrounded by the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, and SFJAZZ—among other prestigious organizations and establishments—SFCM is perfectly placed to offer you direct access to musical artistry of the highest caliber.

Get to know our campus, city, and programs during our in-person group tours. Led by admission student staff, these interactive tours provide you the opportunity to ask your questions while getting a feel for our campus.

Tours are held on Tuesday-Fridays during the academic year. Tours may be requested no later than five business days before the requested tour date. Our staff will respond within three business days to confirm your tour and check in details.* On rare occasions, requested tours may be not approved and rescheduled based on staff availability, campus closures, and other.

Fall 2024 tours will be posted no later than September 15, 2024.

*If you are hoping to schedule a tour within five business days, please reach out the Admissions Office directly at apply@sfcm.edu to see if a tour is available on your preferred date.

James Encarnación

Assistant Dean of Admissions

I’m honored to rejoin the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s community as Assistant Dean of Admissions. Prior to joining the team, I held Admissions and Enrollment Management positions at The Tianjin Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and SFCM's Pre-College and Adult Extension Divisions. Supporting young musicians through the application and audition processes is work that I value deeply, and being able to showcase the extraordinary education that SFCM provides is incredibly rewarding. San Francisco is truly a special place! I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree in Trombone Performance from The University of Michigan and a Master of Music Degree in Tenor Trombone from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Lee Anne Frahn

Assistant Director of Admissions

I am thrilled to collaborate with faculty and staff to create an inviting and inclusive environment for SFCM students. As a first-generation student and musician, I understand how intimidating the application process can be! I am committed to helping students navigate admissions and creating a space where applicants feel encouraged to pursue their musical aspirations. I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Western Washington University and a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Originally from Los Angeles, I came to San Francisco to pursue a master's degree in vocal performance at SFCM. After finishing my degree (MM '22), I was lucky enough to join the incredible admissions team. I now enjoy supporting and encouraging applicants as they consider becoming members of our amazing and passionate community. I look forward to helping out incoming students as they make their way to the beautiful city of San Francisco.
