What is your hometown?

What is your favorite recording?

What is a favorite quote that you repeatedly tell students?
“Silence is the loudest downbeat.”
What was the defining moment when you decided to pursue music as a career?
When I realized I could go to school and get a degree in Audio Engineering. Actually going to school and going through the program, I discovered how many different ways there can be to be involved with music and sound as a career.
What was a turning point in your career?
A twenty-four-hour session at The Plant in 2006 led to my meeting Leslie Ann Jones and working at Skywalker Sound.
If you weren't a musician or teacher, what do you think you would be doing now?
Carrying the mail and recording music.
What is your daily practice routine?
Listening critically to music whenever and wherever possible.
What are your most important collaborations?
Ted Ricketts (Symphony Pops Music/Disney In Concert), Honey Island Swamp Band, and Elbert Tsai.
Who are three students you have had the privilege of teaching?
Costas Dafnis, Niko Korolog, and Charlie Sehres.
What is your unrealized project?
Becoming an excellent drummer.
