About the Artist

Hailed a “superlative pianist,” (Journal of the IAWM), Clare Longendyke is a passionate soloist and chamber musician recognized for her colorful musicality, technical fluency, and ability to interpret repertoires across the musical spectrum.  Clare has performed across Europe and North America and has won 1st place prizes in competitions in Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, and Massachusetts. She made her orchestral debut in 2012 performing Bartók’s 3rd Piano Concerto at Indiana University.

Clare has been featured on the Fazioli Piano Series (CA), the Silvermine Artist Series (CT), and NPR’s Performance Today. An active new music performer, she has premiered over 75 new works since 2012 and has worked with living composers Joan Tower, Frederic Rzewski, Amy Williams, Gabriela Lena Frank, Vivian Fung, and Joseph Schwantner, among many others.

In 2017, Clare performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto in E minor with the Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra (MA). Upcoming engagements include solo recital tours in Maine, San Francisco, and Boston, and performances of Joan Tower’s Piano Concerto with orchestras in Indiana and Iowa. Clare attended Boston University, the École Normale de Musique in Paris, France, and Indiana University. She currently lives in Indianapolis and is a Doctoral Candidate in Music at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. www.clarelongendyke.com
