SFCM's 2022 Commencement ceremony will take place in person at the Herbst Theatre, and will also be livestreamed. Multi–GRAMMY Award winner and 2018 Olivier Award winner for Outstanding Achievement in Opera, Kansas–born Joyce DiDonato will speak, perform works by composers Gordon Getty (B.M. ’62, D.H.L. ’81, D.M.A. ’14 honoris causa) and Jake Heggie and be awarded an honorary Doctor of Musical Arts degree as part of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s (SFCM) 2022 commencement exercises.

 

At this year’s commencement, SFCM expects to award 155 credentials across its undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and artist diploma programs. Patrick Galvin (BM ’15, MM ’22 expected) and Lindsay Martin (BM ’22 expected) were nominated and elected by their peers to deliver student remarks. Graduates from the 2020 and 2021 classes were also invited to return to join in the ceremony.
