We believe family is everything, and we want to keep our relationship with you going strong even after graduation. That's why we offer special programs for SFCM alumni.
While we typically encourage our alumni to stay in touch and visit campus, we are disappointed to share that we are unable to allow alumni access to 50 Oak Street or the Bowes Center for the entirety of the 2020-21 Academic Year. The safety of our students remains a top priority for us, and we are taking all measures to ensure our students are healthy and comfortable. We will keep our alumni updated on our reopening plans, and we look forward to welcoming you back home sooner than later! For questions about building access, please contact the Alumni Relations Office at 415-503-6307 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Coming Back for Another Program
Welcome home! Students who have earned a Bachelor of Music from SFCM and are admitted into a Master of Music degree program may receive course waivers for credits taken during their previous degree if the course is identical to a degree requirement in the new program. This excludes ensemble requirements, PRF 352 (Piano Forum), PRF 402 (Composition Seminar) and PRF 462 (Vocal Performance Lab). Any other exceptions may be approved by submitting a petition to the Academic Affairs Committee.
The Conservatory will not accept any transfer credit at the graduate level.
Alumni who have earned a Master of Music from the Conservatory and are admitted into a different Master of Music degree program may transfer credits taken during their previous degree if the course is identical to a degree requirement in the new program, and up to six credits of graduate seminars. This excludes ensemble requirements, PRF 352 Piano Forum, PRF 402 Composition Seminar, and PRF 462 Vocal Performance Lab. Any other exceptions may be approved by submitting a petition to the Academic Affairs Committee.
Alumni may not apply transfer credits for the Postgraduate Certificate in Vocal Performance or Professional Studies Certificarte programs.
Heavily reduced rates for hall rentals are available to Conservatory alumni. Please contact Chris Ramos, Director of Concert Operations, at email@example.com.
Alumni have access to the SFCM library and can check out items with a $50 deposit. The library is located on the 6th floor. For more information about the library, click here or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
