The Presidential Alumni Council is pleased to announce Eugene Rodriguez '87 as honoree at the annual Fanfare luncheon in February 2017. Since 2004, the Fanfare donor event has honored a distinguished alum every year. A former student of David Tanenbaum, Rodriguez founded the Los Cenzontles Cultural Academy in San Pablo, CA in 1994. As NPR's, Morning Edition attests, “Los Cenzontles is a factory of culture.” National Geographic deemed the organization “A rousing call for bi-cultural pride.” Rodriguez's passion for music education as a catalyst for social transformation and cultural identity has earned him a reputation as community leader and local hero.
