The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) and Askonas Holt are proud to announce an exciting new landmark in their ongoing partnership with the first intern joining Askonas Holt from the Conservatory.

Selected from a pool of SFCM students and recent graduates, Lindsey Ha will work with Askonas Holt for the summer of 2024. In addition to her work with the artist management company, Ha will work on a collaboration with the Carnegie Hall Youth Orchestra Festival 2024. This is the latest in a long string of collaborations of SFCM's growing alliance with Askonas Holt, Opus 3 Artists, and Pentatone records.

In this paid position, Ha will have the opportunity to assist in the touring, production, and artist relations aspect of youth orchestral engagements. Ha will initially work remotely in San Francisco, and will then join the National Children's Orchestra of Venezuela tour during the residences at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and Carnegie Hall in New York City, housing and a stipend will also be provided.

"I am immensely grateful to be a part of this inaugural internship with Askonas Holt and SFCM. This is an incredible opportunity for me and future students to gain hands-on experience in tour management and see what it takes to make events of this size run smoothly." Ha said." I cannot wait to join the team, meet all the talented young musicians and travel to Los Angeles and New York City!" Ha is a clarinetist who graduated from SFCM in 2023.

"We're so happy to welcome Lindsey Ha to our team for this project, to get real hands-on experience with touring world-class youth orchestras," said Askonas Holt Chief Executive Officer Donagh Collins. "Our partnership with Carnegie Hall’s World Orchestra Week is a beautiful example of the kind of work we at Askonas Holt are excited to be involved with, and I hope that this experience will inspire Lindsey, and others like her at SFCM, to think about a career in artist management and tour management." With a history dating back over a century Askonas Holt is one of the world's leading arts management companies, specializing in classical music, and was acquired by SFCM in 2022.

Overseeing the internship from SFCM is Kristen Klehr, Chair of SFCM's Professional Development and Engagement Center (PDEC). "We recognize that the music industry offers a variety of career paths, SFCM is providing students with unparalleled exposure to the inner workings of our music industry today," Klehr said. "Under the umbrella of PDEC these internships work as a direct opportunity stemming from SFCM's growing alliances, all working towards preparing students for the career of their choosing."

This internship, in addition to two last year with Opus 3 Artists, is designed to be a unique opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in the music industry and hone skills under the mentorship of top industry professionals.
