The popular public radio program From the Top devoted an entire national broadcast in early March to SFCM’s Pre-College Division. Taping before a live audience in the Conservatory’s Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall on February 14, host Christopher O’Riley interviewed several of the extraordinary young musicians studying at SFCM and then asked them to take center stage for performances. The program also featured Pre-College alumnus and acclaimed cellist Matt Haimovitz and collegiate alumna and soprano Lisa Delan ’89 in a performance of Angel Heart, a musical storybook co-created by Delan and composer Luna Pearl Woolf. While Pre-College students appear regularly on From the Top, the broadcast in early March drew national attention to the concentration of outstanding talent coming out of the Pre-College Division. Listen to the broadcast.
