It’s not often that a music school plays host to a public restaurant, but SFCM’s partner Uccello Lounge isn’t typical. The new venue, on the first floor of the Bowes Center at 200 Van Ness Avenue in the city’s Civic Center, is now officially open. It features fine dining, drinks, and free live music by SFCM musicians.

From a happy hour visit to a formal dinner, the unique spot in the heart of the arts district aims to compliment San Francisco’s lively performance scene.

Here’s everything you need to know about one of the newest eateries and live music venues in town:

1. The Location

Uccello Lounge is a restaurant, cocktail lounge, and music venue located inside the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's new Bowes Center at 200 Van Ness Avenue.

2. The Hours

The lounge is open Thursday through Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

3. The Eats

From a quick bite of truffled mushroom flatbread, to a full dinner of roasted Mount Lassen trout, the menu is focused on both happy hour shareables and traditional evening meals.

4. The Drinks

Ucello Lounge offers classic cocktails and a variety of wines by the glass. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available.

5. The Music

Uccello Lounge has free live music every night from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Visitors can expect a variety of talented SFCM artists, which may include a jazz quartet, vocalist, a string trio or other ensemble!

6. The Vibe

Modern, yet comfortable. Uccello Lounge integrated acoustic treatments into design elements. You can experience amazing live music performances, but still carry on a normal conversation with your companions.
