How do we share music?

SFCM students, faculty, and visiting artists shared music with approximately 21,000 audience members around the world through virtual and live performances.

How do we engage the community?

SFCM partners with local organizations to provide in-person music instruction and mentorship to K-12 students attending local public schools and after-school programs throughout San Francisco.

SFCM donors with SFCM students

Who supports us?

851 individual donor households, 40 institutional donors, 154 legacy society members, and 10 estates, in addition to our inspiring volunteers, collaborators, faculty, and staff, contributed to the success of our students and programs.

How Do We Invest in the Future of Performance?

In May 2022, Gordon Getty ‘62 announced the formation of the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation for the Arts, to be supported by the proceeds from the sale of the family’s art collection. Proceeds from the October 2022 week-long series of auctions at Christie’s surpassed $150M. In December 2022, SFCM announced that the Foundation had pledged a philanthropic gift to SFCM that will be the institution’s largest and one of the most significant to any music school. The donation will advance SFCM’s inventive business model and will include resources to create 120 scholarships over the next four years for undergraduate and graduate students of exceptional potential in any area of study—all in the spirit of SFCM’s pioneering female founders Ada Clement and Lillian Hodghead. The awards will be known as the “Founders Scholarships.”

Annual Giving
SFCM’s loyal donors make it possible for our students to pursue and achieve their dreams. We salute the exemplary generosity of our annual donors, who ensure that SFCM is able to provide an unmatched, transformative education for the next generation of artists.

Individual Donors

Gifts from individuals play a critical role in preparing young artists for a lifetime of success. SFCM Society donors support student scholarships and access to the highest-quality instruments, help attract renowned faculty, and sustain valuable community programs. With deep appreciation, we celebrate all who donated $1,000 or more in annual gifts, including event donations and estate gifts, from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
