First Violinist and Cellist, Speakeasy String Quartet - Speakeasy String Quartet (ends 12/1)

Description:

Speakeasy String Quartet specializes in note for note transcriptions of jazz and other music from the 1920's. Everything is notated. After a hiatus, I am looking to re form the group. In the past the group has performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Waiheke Island, New Zealand Jazz Festival, First International Fiji Jazz Festival, JVC Jazz Festival NYC, etc.

Qualifications:

I am looking for two women to round out the makeup of the group, a First Violinist and a Cellist who have a ton of chamber music experience and who are open to loosening up their playing from the constraints of classical technique and steeping themselves in a variety of different styles of music they may be unfamiliar with. I am looking for people serious about forming a new ensemble where everyone is equal and contributes not only artistically but also to the logistics of running the group as well.

Responsibilities:

I am re forming the group to record my arrangement of a very famous piece of music that has never been arranged for String Quartet. This could potentially be a very high profile recording.

Salary:

To be discussed

Application Instructions:

Please send me your resume and any recordings you may have to: altonero@yahoo.com. If your files are too large to include simply send them via We Transfer. I will in turn send you recordings and parts.
