Six strings of artistry

SFCM's Guitar department has produced some of the top guitarists in the world, including, as recently as 2026, winners of the Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist  Competition.

Our all-star international faculty have expertise ranging from early music to contemporary, working composers, and guitarists at SFCM also have access to the historic Harris Guitar Collection, composed of dozens of guitars from some of the instrument's most important and respected luthiers. These prized instruments are available to students for performance and recording projects, letting them literally take their instrument's history into their own hands.
