Hermann Hauser II
1967, Reisbach
Top: Spruce
Back & Sides: Rosewood
It is not unusual for a multi-generational business—whether in craft or commerce—to grow in size through the generations. But often the first generation sets the standard for creativity so high that following generations struggle to keep the original vision intact. In the case of the Hauser guitar dynasty, it may be that Hermann Hauser II (1911-1988) did more than merely maintain his father’s standards, as evidenced by this 1967 Herman Hauser II, No. 813. There is good reason that Andrés Segovia, Julian Bream, the Romeros and many others have chosen to play Hauser II guitars during their careers.
With its astonishingly beautiful, highly-figured rosewood, this guitar has sound to match, with all the elegance, clarity and balance of Hauser I along with added grand piano volume and projection. The guitar was selected from the collection by San Francisco Conservatory of Music graduate, Antoniy Kakamakov, to record his first CD, “Inquieto: 20th Century Masterworks.”
