Advanced Piano I

Instructor: Jacqueline Chew
Dates: June 2 - August 4 (no classes June 23 and July 7); Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:30 PM (8 classes)
Tuition: $275
This class is for those who have completed Class Piano I (read treble and bass clefs, are familiar with major and minor chords, and major scales and their key signatures). Focus will be on playing major scales, learning coordination of two-handed rhythms, beginning piano technique and mastering solo repertoire of pianists’ choice. Students must have access to a personal piano or keyboard during online classes.

Piano Solo Repertory

Instructor: Jacqueline Chew
Dates: May 20 - August 5 (no classes June 24 and July 8); 6:00 – 7:30 PM (10 classes)
Tuition: $325
Pianists work on solo repertoire of their choice. Selection of solo should precede the first class.

Classes 1-5 will be devoted to repertoire analysis and practice techniques.
Classes 6-7 will focus on performance preparation, with an online performance July 22nd. In Classes 9-10 we will begin study of new solos.

It is helpful if pianists are familiar with major and minor keys, triads and seventh chords, and key signatures. Students must have access to a personal keyboard or piano during online classes.

Repertoire level: Bach Two-part Invention, classical sonatinas, Chopin Waltz in A minor etc.

Piano Master Class: Music of the Americas

Instructor: Jacqueline Chew
Dates: May 20 - August 5 (no classes June 24 and July 8); Thursdays, 7:30 – 9:00 PM (10 classes)
Tuition: $325
Discover composers “closer to home”, as we explore music composed here in North America and neighboring Central and South America. Selection of solo should precede the first class.

Classes 1-5 will be devoted to repertoire analysis and practice techniques.
Classes 6-7 will focus on performance preparation, with an online performance July 22nd. In Classes 9-10 we will begin study of new solos.

Students must have access to a personal piano or keyboard during online classes.
