Gloria S. Kim Appointed Vice President of Artistic Operations
On September 1, Gloria S. Kim joins the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as its new Vice President of Artistic Operations. Working in close collaboration with the school’s Advancement team, Kim will oversee the production of events at SFCM, implement collaborations with other organizations, lead and expand the school’s engagement programs and enhance the experience of visitors to its Civic Center campus. She comes to the Conservatory from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she has served as Associate Dean for Artistic Programming and Operations.

Stull. “Gloria’s tremendous talent and experience will amplify our production capacity at the Conservatory and she will be charged with developing a set of key partnerships that will provide exceptional opportunities for the school. We are very fortunate to have her with us.”

As Associate Dean for Artistic Programming and Operations of Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Kim produced Oberlin’s Artist Recital Series, the Conservatory’s national and international tours, and other special performance projects, including community outreach concerts. Prior to joining Oberlin Conservatory, she served with distinction as Manager of Annual Fund at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association from 2003 to 2007. In 2003 Kim received the American Symphony Orchestra League’s prestigious Orchestra Management Fellowship, completing residencies at the Aspen Music Festival and School and with the Indianapolis, Greenville (SC), and Chicago symphonies.
Kim is currently Vice President of the Korean Leaders International Network Consortium (K-‐LINC) in Toronto, Canada. She has been a board director of Music from The Western Reserve, an adjudicator for the McKnight Artist Fellowship Competition in Minneapolis, a fundraising consultant for Southwest Chamber Music and a member of Oberlin Conservatory’s Alumni Council Committee. A Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Lambda graduate of Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, Kim earned a B.A. in arts administration and a B.M. in piano performance.
