It’s a sure bet that each season SFCM Opera will program some of the most engaging and timely productions on offer in the Bay Area. This year is no exception. The Conservatory’s fall production is Francis Poulenc’s Les mamelles de Tirésias (The Breasts of Tiresias), a farce in the form of a comic opera that touches issues surrounding gender equality, economics, culture, and war. Featuring over-the-top characters matched with a post-war sensibility, this production will turn heads and teach lessons.
