Ramon Sender's Tropical Fish Opera at California Academy of Sciences

Program
SFCM students work alongside composers Ramón Sender and Terry Riley to perform Sender's improvisational piece titled Tropical Fish Opera*. Taking place at the California Coast Tank in the California Academy of Sciences aquarium, a string quartet will bring the piece to life in a way never before seen. In this piece, the fish are the notes, and are played as they swim across the sweeping tank.
*While the original score for the piece calls for a tank filled with tropical fish, this rendition will be performed using the temperate California Coast Tank.
Admission to the museum must be purchased in order to attend.
