Roots, Jazz and American Music and SFJAZZ Collective Side-by-Side
at
Students from the Roots, Jazz, and American Music (RJAM) program team up with SFJAZZ Collective for a side-by-side performance.
Program
The Roots, Jazz, and American Music (RJAM) Side-By-Side Concert is the culmination of an intensive 3-day residency here at SFCM. We also are delighted to welcome and have perform with us new RJAM Vocal Jazz Faculty member Carmen Bradford.
RJAM students and faculty have been mixed to form 4 distinct jazz combos during the residency. During this time, students and faculty have collaborated, rehearsed, and worked towards preparing music for this evening’s concert. This has been a total collaborative effort with both students and faculty bringing in music, sharing approaches, styles, and experiences, and developing a musical concept for their respective combos. This jazz mentorship approach is the hallmark of the RJAM program here at SFCM.
