Life on Campus
When it comes to your college experience, nothing is more important than feeling comfortable. At SFCM, we strive to provide you with the most useful tools and opportunities to make your time at the Conservatory welcoming and productive. Our Student Life staff has been where you are, and we know how important it is for every student to feel their needs are met. Study, practice, performance — these are only pieces of the pie. We’re here to guide you through life at SFCM and in San Francisco.
Living on campus has a clear and profound impact on student persistence and engagement. Regardless of important factors like race, parental education, and finances, students that live on campus are more likely to engage in academic activities relative to their off-campus peers, and these activities in turn, affect retention rates, academic engagement, and feelings of belonging to the community.
Our new, 12-story residence hall and performing arts facility, will more than double the size of SFCM’s campus and provide the unmatched opportunity for SFCM students to live, learn, and perform in the heart of the city’s cultural corridor.
With the opening of the Bowes Center comes expanded food service options to meet student needs. We are building this program from the ground up, and will continue to add dining options over time.
Health and Wellness
From hearing health to counseling, we provide an array of services and information that can help keep you up and going.
As an institution located in San Francisco’s urban arts and tech district, we take safety and security seriously.

At SFCM, we like to start our students out with leadership opportunities sooner rather than later.
