About SFCM’s Bass Department

Lay a deep, expressive foundation for Conservatory ensembles. SFCM's double bass department has fewer than 15 students under the instruction of two faculty professors, the principal and assistant principal of the San Francisco Symphony. Students can perform with resident ensembles such as the Conservatory Orchestra and chamber groups from the baroque to the contemporary, as well as enter the annual String Concerto Competition.
