What question do you wish students would ask sooner rather than later?
"I wish students would ask themselves: Why do I want to learn music/instrument ?"
What was the defining moment when you decided to pursue music as a career?
It was a gradual process. I studied with some of the most amazing cello teachers so I wanted to give back and transform lives through music.
What was a turning point in your career?
Leaving New York and moving to Northern California to start a family. Figuring out how to manage a career in music while raising kids.
If you weren't a musician or teacher, what do you think you would be doing now?
Working with youth in some capacity.
What is your daily practice routine?
I can’t say “daily” but when I do get a chance, I will start my warm up with open strings, scales, double stops, and maybe an etude I am currently teaching followed by breaking down a difficult passage in the repertoire.
What is your unrealized project?
Performing all Six Bach suites in one day!
