Life on Campus

When it comes to your college experience, nothing is more important than feeling comfortable. At SFCM, we strive to provide you with the most useful tools and opportunities to make your time at the Conservatory welcoming and productive. Our Student Life staff has been where you are, and we know how important it is for every student to feel their needs are met. Study, practice, performance — these are only pieces of the pie. We’re here to guide you through life at SFCM and in San Francisco.

Living on campus has a clear and profound impact on student persistence and engagement. Regardless of important factors like race, parental education, and finances, students that live on campus are more likely to engage in academic activities relative to their off-campus peers, and these activities in turn, affect retention rates, academic engagement, and feelings of belonging to the community.
