- Curt Branom
Actor Curt Branom has been a principal cast member in San Francisco’s popular long-running musical Beach Blanket Babylon for more than 20 years. During that time, he has created and inhabited dozens of roles, from the flamboyant King Louis XIV to Bernie Sanders, Putin and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. His New York acting credits include Hurlyburly, A Lie of the Mind, Our Life and Times (MAC and Bistro Award), and How Now Voyager. Regional credits include Sweet Charity (Bay Area Theater Critics Circle nomination for Best Actor), Little Shop of Horrors, Li’l Abner, Sugar, Oklahoma!, Some Enchanted Evening, And What Give Up Showbiz? and You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. In concerts to benefit arts, education and health, Branom has sung with Frederica von Stade, the San Francisco Symphony and the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus. In 2012, he co-founded Pacific Singers & Actors Workshop (singersandactorsworkshop.org), a nonprofit that offers a 10-week course in acting, singing and improvisation to Bay Area middle and high school students. He was recently named a recipient of the 2019 Jefferson Awards for Public Service. Branom also teaches acting for opera singers at SongFest in Los Angeles. Commercial and voiceover credits include Sutter Health, Microsoft, Intel, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, 3DO, MTV, Evite.com, “Fly Away Home” as well as the video games Grand Turismo 2 and Crash ‘N Burn. Curt lives in San Francisco with his husband, Jake Heggie. His greatest role to date is being Grayson’s dad.
