Calix Quartet Wins Barbara Fritz Chamber Music Award

The Calix Quartet won the 2020 Barbara Fritz Chamber Music Award of the Berkeley Piano Club. The annual prize, which aims to help emerging chamber ensembles, includes a $4000 cash reward and a concert at the century-old Berkeley Piano Club. This year, it was pre-recorded and will be available to stream on Sunday, March 21 at 2:30 PM.
Comprised of current SFCM students Dominique Bégin (MM ’21, violin), Kexin Ye (MM ’21, violin), Chuxuejie Zhang (BM ’19, MM ’21 viola), and Matthew Park (AD ’21, cello), the Calix Quartet concert features pieces by Hayden and Ravel.
