Health Services and Insurance

Primary Care with One Medical

All collegiate students receive a membership with One Medical Group. One Medical provides high-quality, patient-centered primary care services with same-day/next-day appointments. One Medical accepts the SFCM Student Health Insurance Plan through UnitedHealthcare as well as many other national insurers. Students also have access to 24/7/365 virtual care by phone, email, and video conference, a mobile app for appointment scheduling and prescription refills, personal health coaching, and referrals to a network of specialists.

Student Health Insurance Plan

SFCM has selected Gallagher Student Health to administer the Student Health Insurance Plan through UnitedHealthcare. Coverage begins on August 1 of each academic year (January 1 for students starting in the spring semester) and ends July 31.

All full-time collegiate students are required to have medical insurance. SFCM urges all students (and parents / legal guardians, if applicable) to thoroughly compare health insurance options. All domestic students who are not covered under a comparable US-issued health insurance policy must purchase health insurance offered through SFCM. All international students must purchase health insurance offered through SFCM. Students who take a leave of absence may be ineligible to continue their health insurance policy through SFCM. International students enrolled in Optional Practical Training (OPT) are eligible, but not required, to enroll.

Students who opt-out of the SFCM Student Health Insurance Plan are encouraged to ensure that their individual plan has sufficient coverage and providers in San Francisco. SFCM encourages every student to select a primary care doctor in the San Francisco area, especially if the student has a medical condition that requires routine and regular care.

Students who do not complete the online health insurance enrollment/waiver process will have the SFCM Student Health Insurance Plan charge placed on their term bill.
