FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Francisco, CA – Intelligent.com, a resource for online and on-campus program rankings and higher education planning, included the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) in its list of the “Best Master's in Music Degree Programs in 2022.” The organization’s research identifies 50 top programs in the nation based on flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost, and reputation.

San Francisco Conservatory of Music was awarded “Best Two-Year Program” on the final list.

Intelligent.com implemented a unique methodology that ranks each program on a scale from zero to 100 across five categories. The scoring system compares each institution according to program strength, student readiness, return on investment, cost, and student engagement. Researchers compared 395 programs from 162 universities and colleges across the United States.

In particular, Intelligent.com assessed programs in the category according to their role in helping students enhance and develop advanced skills for a variety of in-demand positions, noting that thousands of music-related jobs will be added through 2029 and that roles for broadcast and sound engineering technicians are projected to grow 9% in the next decade.

SFCM’s degree track at the master’s level is a dynamic, two-year course of study that allows for professional development and artistic refinement. It readies students for life as a professional musician, teacher, entrepreneur, and critical thinker. Programs are offered across the brass, composition, conducting, guitar, percussion, piano/keyboards, strings, string and piano chamber, technology and applied composition, woodwinds, and voice departments. The Conservatory also offers a one- or two-year Advanced Certificate program focusing on private lessons, performance classes, and humanities courses at the graduate level.

Applications for 2022-23 enrollment are now open; the deadline for submission is December 1, 2021.
