About Matthew Worth

Matthew Worth is one of the baritones of choice for innovative productions and contemporary works on the operatic leading edge. 

Highlights of recent seasons include the title role in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Boston Lyric Opera, the premiere and recording of the Narrator in Richard Danielpour’s The Passion of Yeshua, (which later won a GRAMMY for Best Choral Performance) the title role in the world premiere of JFK with Fort Worth Opera, the world premiere of The Manchurian Candidate with Minnesota Opera, and Moby Dick at Washington National Opera.

The child of two elementary school teachers, Worth was born in Hartford, Connecticut, where his first musical love was jazz, and he played the trombone through college. Worth attended University of Richmond (B.A. Music) and Manhattan School of Music (M.M. Voice) and is a Juilliard Opera Center graduate. He lives in the Bay Area with his son Fenton, daughter Everly, and their dog Abby. He enjoys hiking, listening to podcasts, and exploring national parks with his kids.

About Margaret Halbig

Pianist Margaret Halbig is in high demand as a collaborative artist in both the instrumental and vocal fields. She is currently Associate Chair of the Voice Department and Principal Vocal Coach at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she also frequently collaborates with faculty and student singers and instrumentalists.

In 2023, Margaret was appointed Collaborative Piano Coordinator of Interlochen Arts Camp where she has coordinated vocal, instrumental, and dance pianists, taught both solo and collaborative piano, as well as played with students in competitions, masterclasses, and lessons.  

An advocate of new and contemporary music, Margaret is the pianist for Ninth Planet, a San Francisco-based new music collective where she also serves on the board. In 2020, Margaret became the primary pianist for Ensemble For These Times, a group that focuses on 20th and 21st century music that resonates with today yet speaks to tomorrow. She is also a member of Frequency 49, a wind and piano sextet, which performs all over the Bay Area.

Margaret earned her DMA from the University of California Santa Barbara under the tutelage of Robert Koenig and also holds performance degrees from the University of Missouri, Kansas City Conservatory and University of Evansville, Indiana.
