The Game Scoring Track is designed to teach all aspects of audio design and composition for games. Music, Sound Design, Production and Implementation are explored using industry standard tools like Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton and more, utilizing large scale sample libraries like East West, VSL and others, as well as using game engines and middleware tools such as Unity, Unreal, Wwise, FMOD and more. Production and development is done by working on a variety of real games, theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience go hand in hand to create original portfolio pieces. We also explore emerging media such as VR, AR, XR, and spatial audio systems like Dolby ATMOS. Lastly, students get the chance to co-lab & work with game design teams and developers to garner real world experience before graduation.

Every Semester TAC students get real-world video game composing experience with support from Sony Playstation Studios through the Sony Project. Recent guest artists include movie composer Michael Abels (Get Out), Peter Scaturro, the (Sony Interactive Entertainment director of music), and film and game orchestrator Tim Davies (Frozen, The Last of Us, Ant Man).

This coursework prepares students for professional opportunities across the board from score prep and orchestration to feature film and AAA composition.
