December 16, 2021 by Mark Taylor

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—As the new year approaches, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) is pleased to announce its spring 2022 concert series, which includes a combination of in-person and live-streamed events.

New this season, patrons can reserve tickets online using SFCM's site!

We are excited to announce for the first time we are inviting the public to concerts and events inside the new Bowes Center. On February 12th, the Conservatory will play host to an open house at the new Ute and William K. Bowes, Jr. Center for Performing Arts designed by Mark Cavagnero Associates (MCA). It is a “vertical campus” where students can create, learn, and share music. This open house will be open to neighbors and the general public to get their first look inside the venue where 90% of concerts will be free to the public.

Our building at 50 Oak street has been officially renamed the Ann Getty Center for Education, where we will continue to have classes, performance and masterclasses.

Continuing this Spring season is the popular, “Chamber Music Tuesday” which will feature world-renowned guest artists like Itamar Zorman, and Marcy Rosen in collaboration with SFCM chamber music alumni, faculty, and students.

The SFCM Opera and Musical Theatre program will welcome Opus 3 Artist James Darrah to direct La Clemenza di Tito, as an exploration of opera+film.

Further highlights include performances by the SFCM Orchestra led by SFCM Music Director Edwin Outwater and guest and student conductors; a New Music Ensemble performance led by its director, Nicole Paiement; a baroque period program by the SFCM Baroque Orchestra; Fully-staged opera & musical theatre productions of The Apple Tree, and The Enchanted Pig; Multiple exciting collaborative performances with Roots, Jazz, and American Music students and SFJAZZ in Miner Auditorium.
